Flipping Off a Hummer

It seems there is a new movement for those amongst us who self-label themselves as extra environmentally conscientious. It's a game really, and it entails giving the middle-finger to Hummers, wherever you find them. Well, I for one, consider myself to be fairly environmentally aware (I recycle, I don't hug trees), but this is silly. No, I'd never drive a Hummer even if I could afford one. I think they look ridiculous. But, flipping-off those that do want to drive one is a wussy sort of way to express your indignation. Plus, many of the photos I found on their web site show the bird being given from behind or the side or to an apparently unoccupied Hummer. Can't these though hombres at least let the folks driving the gas-guzzling beasts know that they have been justly insulted?

And really, why stop at Hummers? A Hummer H2 is really just an uglified Suburban. So how about all those soccer moms driving the Suburbans and Expeditions? Don't they get the bird too? For that matter, how about my folks? They drive a diesel-guzzling F250 all around the country hauling a 37 foot 5th-wheel trailer. What about them, don't they give a hoot about the environment? I guess not. So, somebody should take it upon themselves to flip my dad off, but please, please, make sure to do it to his face. He'll like that. He'll even laugh at you (I can't do it... I'm still scared of him!)
