Shun Angry People

I work with a guy that is angry. He is angry about a number of things, but mostly he is angry about the current political situation. And about a certain person that occupies a specific high office. Now, I won't get into details, but this guy is non-stop dripping venom. But, if you can ever get him off of that specific subject he is a delightful person with wide knowledge on many subjects and a very entertaining personality. The problem is, it's really hard to get him off the subject because he lives and breathes the anger listening to radio programs and visiting web sites and by hanging out with others that are angry like him.

Now, the point I am slowly getting around to making here is not whether this person is justified in their constant negativity and anger. The point is that hanging out around this person much is bad for me so I don't do it much any more. It's not that we agree or disagree on any specifics related to his grievances, it's that I just don't like the constant venom - it's poisonous.

Evidently there's some science to support the concept that hanging around angry and negative people is bad for your brain. Duh!
